Out in the garden where we planted the seeds...

Navy dress: BS8
Gold squirrel necklace: H&M
Tan belt: Topshop
Black leggings: Topshop
Tan brogues: Topshop
Rings: JWLRY and Elsiebelle

I went to Bristol yesterday with my husband, as neither of us had any interest in watching the Royal Wedding and we wanted to make the most of our day off. It was like a ghost town! I bought the diplodocus ring from a little boutique on Park Street, and my husband bought me the navy dress from BS8, which is one of my favourite shops in Bristol.

In the (horrid!) close-up photos, I am trying to show you my make up, but my silly laptop camera has washed out the colours! I am wearing my usual base layer, with MAC Fleur Power blush, Urban Decay Sin eyeshadow and Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Electric. Oh, my nails are Topshop Green Room. I love this colour, but the formula sucks. Unusual for Topshop polishes actually - all of the other shades I have apply beautifully.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!

Here's a bonus photo of one of my outfits from last week. I wore it to meet some friends for an after-work drink.

 Polka dot dress: Topshop
Grey jersey cardigan: Topshop
Leggings: H&M
Studded pumps: Topshop

Oops, an almost entirely Topshop outfit!

Want: Pearl Lowe for Peacocks Dress

I am desperate to get my hands on this dress from the Pearl Lowe for Peacocks range when it is released on November 14th;
It will be priced at £45, which is a little more than I'd pay for an everyday dress but I think it's worth it as it looks very versatile. Only trouble is, I don't know what size to order! I am usually a size 10, but have read that the Pearl Lowe ranges are normally quite large so I don't know whether to order an 8 instead.

A little bit of a style-crush...

I can't say that I've ever noticed Jessica Alba's clothes before, but when I saw her in this outfit at the Venice Film Festival, I fell in love with her (and it) a little bit...

I love the style of the dress, the long sleeves, the length of the dress, the distressed hem, the bold print, the bangles, the nail polish, the simple hair style... And don't get me started on the shoes! I need them. What's not to love?

Sadly, I could never get away with this style of dress (the neckline is too high for me, my chest would look like a shelf) but I think she looks stunning. Dress is by Dolce & Gabbana.

New dress!

I went shopping in my town-of-birth, Stratford-upon-Avon, on Friday and came home with 200g of toffee bonbons and a gorgeous Fever dress (Cezanne side lace style). I've been eyeing up this dress for ages online, but didn't buy it as I thought it was a bit expensive and also because friends had told me that Fever sizes come up small and I wasn't sure which size to order, so I was really pleased when I saw it in a tiny boutique shop in Stratford (Aspire Style, www.aspirestyle.co.uk) and was able to try it on. I was even more pleased when I saw it had 50% off, so was on sale for £34.50! I found that the sizing was pretty standard actually, I am pretty much always a size 10 and the size 10 dress fitted me perfectly, especially with the ribbon ties at the waist which enabled me to take it in a little. I'm planning on saving this for a wedding in October, but we'll see how that goes...

Also, if you're ever in Stratford I urge you to go to this fabulous shop; not only does it sell clothes, but it sells gorgeous jewellery, cards, gifts, bags and even shoes - everything a girl could ever need, apart from good books and a gin and tonic with ice. Perfect!
